About

I’m Matthew Tomlinson, a photographer based in Los Angeles, California.

My work moves between coastlines, cities, landscapes, and life in motion. From Malibu and Big Sur to Tokyo and the Maldives, this collection brings together photographs made close to home and further afield.

I’m drawn to the way light changes a place: a quiet stretch of coastline, the geometry of a city, or the sculptural lines of a car. These projects are a way of looking more closely—and holding onto a little of what makes each place distinct.
